Tux Account Information

All CCI Faculty and Staff, as well as all students enrolled in CCI classes, are eligible for a Tux account. Student accounts are typically available on the first day of the term in which they are enrolled for a course, and faculty and staff accounts are created shortly after new members' account information is provided to CCI IT.

Starting in Spring 2023, Tux is transitioning to using Drexel credentials rather than specific Tux credentials. This will remove the need to remember multiple account passwords.

Legacy accounts will still work on Tux for the Spring and Summer 2023 quarters, but CCI IT will reach out to faculty and staff using their legacy accounts to help migrate those users to their Drexel credentials.

Students should use FileZilla to transfer any files from their old account to their local computer, then upload them to their new Tux account. Rsync may also be used, if desired.

To log in with Drexel credentials on Tux, use your full email address, such as "abc123@drexel.edu" as your username. An example for SSH login for that user would be "ssh abc123@drexel.edu@tux.cs.drexel.edu".

Starting in Summer 2023, legacy Tux accounts will not be created. All students should use Drexel accounts to access Tux, as legacy accounts will be disabled within the next few terms. Gitlab users should log in using the "DrexelConnect" login method.

When on campus, please connect to Dragonfly3 rather than DrexelGuest, as the guest network sometimes causes issues with Tux access.
